Join violinist Irina Muresanu and pianist Roberto Plano for an exciting evening of music for violin and piano entitled “Rorem, Ravel and Rags!” Both are newer members of the Festival’s “Family of Artists,” each having performed in two Festival seasons. They “discovered” each other at Festival 2015. This acclaimed duo will present works by Ravel, Rorem, Debussy, Bolcom, Joplin and more. Join these two magnificent artists as they explore classical music mixed with American blues, Spanish melodies, and gypsy themes—all connected by the works of Maurice Ravel. This will be a concert-only event.

Their program features music by Radamés Gnattali, Ástor Piazzolla, J.S. Bach, Ross Edwards, Manuel de Falla, Gabriel Fauré and Jaime Zenamon. The Friends of the Newport Music Festival will prepare a wonderful pre-concert reception at 6 p.m. followed by the concert.
Concert 3
Daniel del Pino in Recital
Saturday, March 25th From 4 – 6 PM
Saint Matthew’s Church, Jamestown
Concert Only $25

Audiences missed Spanish pianist Daniel del Pino at this season’s Newport Music Festival, and for good reason—he and his wife welcomed the birth of their second son Jorge on July 27th. A favorite among Festival audiences, Mr. del Pino returns to Newport for a thrilling recital of music featuring selections of music by Spanish composers and Franz Liszt’s Années de pèlerinage (Years of Pilgrimage), widely considered a masterwork and summation of Liszt’s musical style. Mr. del Pino is one of Spain’s leading pianists on the international concert scene, and has been a mainstay of the Festival’s “family of artists” for 15 seasons. This will be a concert-only event.
Concert 4

Tim Carey in Recital
Friday, April 21st From 6 – 9 PM
Saint Matthew’s Church, Jamestown
Reception followed by Concert $35

Over the past three seasons English pianist Tim Carey has quickly won over audiences with his versatile performances, charming personality, quick wit and good humor. For his 60th birthday concert this season he teamed up with pianist Bernadene Blaha for a duo-piano version of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3. What a thrilling evening at The Breakers it was! For this final concert Mr. Carey will present works by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. The Friends of the Newport Music Festival will prepare a wonderful pre-concert reception at 6 p.m. followed by the concert at 7 p.m.
