Mission Statement The Rhode Island Arts Foundation at Newport, Inc. is a nonprofit charitable organization established for the purpose of promoting and preserving the art of chamber music. The Foundation’s major objective is the administration of the Newport Music Festival, a seventeen-day series of sixty-seven chamber music concerts held each July in the famous “Gilded Age” mansions of Newport, Rhode Island. The Festival focuses on music of the Romantic era, especially less well-known works, in addition to the standard repertoire. It is world-renowned as a distinguished venue for foreign artists making their American debuts and as a committed presenter of young American talent to Newport audiences. The Foundation is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Funds raised will support the Newport Music Festival’s international cultural programs for all Rhode Islanders.
